or not? Anyone?

Oh stop your bickering. You have phenomenal stats, i wish i had your stats

that doesn’t help x_x
I’m torn between Columbia ED and Princeton SCEA, which would I have a better chance at given my desire for both is the same? For Princeton, I wouldn’t have to even send in my SAT scores…

please help! =)

Let me ask this: you are in the position to chance other people, but you can’t chance yourself…i dont get it…

because a person can’t look at himself/herself objectively…

What state are you from? Rural or urban? Your stats are fine, but for the Ivies it will depend a lot on your competition. I don’t see anything that would make you a shoo-in. When will you know if you won the president election? Are you sending in four supplemental recommendations? That’s probably unnecessary.

You should NEVER apply early to a school just because you think it will increase your odds. Assume you apply early to Columbia (or Princeton) because you think your odds are better there than at Princeton (or Columbia). Assume you get in. Assume Princeton (or Columbia) was really, deep down, your first choice. Do you really want to spend the rest of your high school/college/graduate school/career/retirement days wondering whether you should have applied to Princeton (or Columbia)?

pbr- I totally get where you’re coming from, but in a sense, I just wanna get into a school & get it over with…

bump? 10 char

Sounds like you have a chance as rank 1 in your graduating class, with a good ACT score and solid extracurriculars (internships, clubs, student council, etc). It depends on your essay, teacher rec.s, and the competition at your school. A bunch of extra letters of recommendations might be going overboard. If they are just going to mention the same qualities, I don’t think they’re necessary.

If there is even a chance that you might prefer Princeton to Columbia at some point in the next year, apply SCEA Princeton, since that is nonbinding. Then you can still go for Columbia RD if you have not made up your mind.

And people lets not give ZaZa so much crap, tons of us chance others and still want to be chanced ourselves. It is difficult to do it to yourself.

ZaZa- your stats are really good (ACT/class rank/coursework…all well within acceptance range) and you have a chance at any of these schools, even Princeton and Columbia. I have no idea if you will get in, but you will be looked at seriously and probably make it into a lot of the schools on that list as long as your essays are good, obviously. You are doing great thus far, and it is anyone’s game at this point, but I suggest you apply.

Hope this helps!

bubbly- my essay and recs are non-issues; the competition part is a little iffy…pretty much the school hasn’t really had any top candidates since 2008, when the valedictorian made it into 7 ivies (aside from Yale) with a 2080…the average SAT score at my school is approximately 1350, and the average ACT hovers at 23-24, as only the “smart” kids take it. So both my SAT and ACT scores are the highest in the history of my school…sad… I know .

&Jaysha, thanks, I was just wondering if applying ED to Columbia would give me the edge over applying SCEA, bc to Princeton, it doesn’t matter if they accept me because I won’t reply back until May 1st anyway…

bump, I need some advice!
