hey i was wondering if any one knows if there is a chance i can play for the schools soccer team the real one no the club..because i saw them practice while i was at orientation and i am positive that i am better than half of the guys on the team...do they have tryouts or something....i really want to play what do you think are my chances of playing for the team im a transfer student...

Good if you "think" you are better than half the team, but I wouldnt sound so high and mighty if I want to apply to the team. walknig in to the their lockerroom and say "Im better than half of you" seems like a stupid way to get your ass killed.

haha bank youre going to la too? thats awesome

i didnt say i was going to walk in and say that im better than most of them...but i can play better than most of them i can touch and kick the better i got skills...ill i want is a chance to prove it

yea, LA is my favorite school. It has like the most relaxing setting for a top school with fewer tightass compared to UCberkeley. I hate hippies too!

^^ I agree, but is UCB really that bad? come on...

contact the coach

how come you didnt get recruited? anyway you might want to contact the coach very soon because season is about to start and I think walk on tryouts have passed...

Yeah, if that doesn't work out get on the men's A team for club soccer.

If you're better than half of them you would have been recruited.

When you contact the coach, I'd leave that part out if I were you.

You would enter as a walk-on IF you made it, and wouldn't be immediately on a scholarship probably (most walk-ons only earn scholarships after their first season). But if you prove yourself to be that good, you'd have a shot I suppose.

Good luck :)

im a transfer student from texas and i didnt get recruited because soccer season in texas is during the fall which limits the chances of a coach looking over here since they are busy with their on schedule.... do you guys know when walk on tryouts were held i know they passed already but do you know when they were...

the soccer season here is fall also... all ncaa teams have soccer in the fall...

thats why its hard to get recruited because coaches are busy intheir season

Believe me coaches know where the talent is. Texas, like SoCal, is a hotbed for soccer recruiting. If you were awesome they would know.

But to answer your question, there should be a link on the athletic page where you can contact the coach. I'd start there.

Good luck :)

they wont know unless you send them some sort of video and information on which school you play so they can go watch you...witch i never did because i didnt think there was soccer after high school you guys got to understand i come from mexico and everything is new to me...

Hey well jrod if that doesn't work out for you and you're still itching to play, there's about a huge # of people that I play with on wednesdays at midnight over at the top of sunset rec parking garage if you're looking for some street ball - basically indoor 5's in open air. A lot of the guys play for the club team so it's a nice way to meet some of the crew. The group is "The Real Midnight Futbol Club" - just holler baby. Not sure when we'll start up in the fall but it'll be soon.

hell i need to walk on to the football team. i played football for half of my life and i have never missed a block. and im pretty sure i can throw better than our QB.

Yeah...good luck getting on the football team.

I HIGHLY doubt you can throw better than our current QB, haters. But yeah, walk on, good luck.

nice ill think ill hit you up deuces thanks for the invite ill be there...
