Chances in American or Fordham?

I want to go to American or Fordham University for Political Science, what are my HONEST chances?!

GPA: 3.2
SAT: 1540

Extracurriculars: (all for 4 yrs.)
President of Student Government
Model UN Competition Team Member
Mock Trial Lawyer and Expert Witness

Relay for Life Committee Member and Chair

Volunteer through Key Club

I have taken honors and AP courses throughout my high school career. I've experienced many life altering situations, and I have a killer admissions essay, and additional information explaining my hardships.

I have been to a visit and interview for American - although I haven't visited Fordham.

I forgot to add, I’m planning on applying to American Test Optional

I would say not good. Even with test optional your GPA is low. Are you prepared to pay full or get financial aid? No merit scholarships.

Really depends on your life struggles though.

Yeah, unless your have a struggle or excuse for your GPA, it will really hurt you in these admissions.

What if I have a recommendation from an alum, and apply ED?

American: Reach
Fordham: Reach

Fordham is a high reach
They want much higher SAT and a 3.7 GPA

American is a reach also

Just thought I’d let everyone know I applied to American(ED1) and Fordham(EA). Unfortunately, I was denied from Fordham, but… I was accepted into American!

For those who might come across this thread in the future, never doubt yourself, because a college acceptance isn’t all about grades. I was accepted to the school of my dreams, and the worst thing they can do is say no. Remember: if you’re rejected, their missing out on you, and should never feel apologetic when applying. Good luck!

Ah. That’s pretty cool to see a results post after the fact. Congrats on American, we will be sharing D.C. next year.
