Chances in Engineering?

Hello! I posted to the chances forum on here but never received a reply! I'm anxious about my chances because the University of Michigan is my top choice for college. I'd like to have my anxieties eased or begin to accept the reality and avoid devastation in December! Thank you so much for taking the time to help. Out of curiosity, how much does being a woman in engineering really help? I feel like it would be a slight boost if anything, since the university is now obligated not to give priority to URM.

[ *] College (LSA, engineering, etc.): Engineering (Civil/Environmental Engineering)
[ *] SAT: 2190 (730 CR, 690 M, 770 W)
[ *] SAT IIs (if sent): Bio E 730, Math 710
[ *] ACT: 34 (33 English, 36 Reading, 34 Math, 31 Science)
I do relatively worse than I could on standardized tests out of nervousness.
[ *] UM unweighted GPA: 3.98 (One A- in Freshman Year)
*] Course load (# of AP/IB/H, special courses, etc.): All honors classes offered by school. Have taken AP World History (4), AP Psychology (5), AP Environmental Science (5), AP English Language (4), AP Microeconomics (4), and AP Macroeconomics (5). I am in the accelerated math program with all As, and I took all of the honors science classes offered up until junior year. I took AP Environmental Science last year, and now I'm taking AP Bio and AP Physics.
[ *] Rank: Unranked
[ *] Other stats: Have been honored as National Merit Semifinalist, AP Scholar with Distinction, and given a book award.
[ *] Subjective (ECs, special circumstances, etc): Involved in three clubs (leadership position in one), Science Olympiad for 4 years, school orchestra for 4 years, volunteered at environmental organization over the summer.
[ *] Essays: Good. Honest Common App essay about relatively obscure Nobel Prize Winner who really inspires me, community essay about orchestra, and good Why U of M essay.
[ *] Teacher Recs: Good/Great (AP English and AP Environmental Science)
[ *] Counselor Rec: Good. While she does not know me exceptionally well, I know that she thinks highly of me academically.
[ *] Hook (legacy, recruited athlete, etc.): Not a lot... Female in COE, Early Action, In-State.
[ *) Location/Person: Michigan
[ *] State or Country: U.S.
[ *] School Type: Fairly competitive public (U of M accepts around 40 of about 200-250 students at my school)
[ *] Ethnicity: White
[ *] Gender: Female
[ *] major strength/weakness: Junior year schedule is weakness. Took AP Environmental Science, AP English, precalculus, orchestra, AP Economics, and a regular social studies class. I do not have any truly exceptional extracurricular activities, and my math standardized test scores could be better for my choice of major.
[ *] Other Factors/questions:
Senior Year Schedule:
AP Physics C
AP Biology
AP English
Orchestra
AP Calculus BC

Thank you again!

You’re in.

Are you grades are good enough as it is

Plus you’re a female

You’ll get in for sure. You could probably get some aid too

What class did you get the A- in? Was it a core course or an elective?

Did you letter in any sports?

You took a regular social studies class? In junior year?

Do you do community service on a regular basis?

Have you written any books or invented anything?

By the way, the same law that prohibits giving preference to a URM also prohibits giving preference to females and one of the major concerns with the law was that it would make it more difficult for women to enter fields such as engineering.

I would say that U-M is a safety for you but until December comes you never know for sure.

Thank you so much for your replies.
No, I have not participated in sports. I was advised to take an elective social studies class junior year by a new guidance counselor. My school advocates three years of the subject, and I completed the core curriculum in two years. Now, however, I regret it. I received an A- in a core class, but the class was notoriously difficult. I do a decent amount of community service, but nothing has been very well-documented. National Honor Society requires at least 18 volunteer hours per year, and the book award is for community service.
