Thanks again.

you can't have a 5.8GPA...it's impossible...

You should be accepted at FSU, UF and Miami might be a bit of a reach, but definitely not out of the possibility. Good luck, maybe I'll see you at UF next year

FSU is a lock, but that 1190 on the SAT's is going to hurt your chances at UF and UM, despite the rank, I'd say you'll prob. get into UM, but UF is a slight reach b/c of your SAT. And to the above, Florida weights things on crazy scales, so yes, you could have a 5.8, I suppose, I mean, my weighted GPA was a 5.75 last quarter, but I'm taking 5 AP's, so idk...

I'm in FL, and we do a 4.0 scale, with AP courses and dual enrollment worth 5.0 and honors worth 4.5...Must be in a different county I guess.

Yeah, I live in Palm Beach County, and we use a 4.0 scale, with AP worth 6.0, and honors and dual-enrollment worth 4.5, so yeah.

dont worry buddy, your in ALL those schools. uf's sat is not that stellar, yours definitely fits right in, and ur rank is great, so that'll carry you by itself.

^ Yeah, he's probably right, I mean, it's getting harder, but even still, if you're in the top 5% and are in-state, you pretty much get into UF.

well, every high school weights differently, so there is bound ot be discrepancies. The florida public colleges have their own weighting system; 1 extra point for AP and .5 points for honors courses. With those stats you're a shoe-in for FSU, and you have a good shot at UF as well because of the high GPA, though your test scores are lacking a bit. They should be good enough though. Make sure you write solid essays, as those could make the difference since you're slightly lacking in sat's.

yea, in my county (hillsborough) you get .08 added to ure weighted gpa for every ap class you take and .04 for each honors class. thanks for the feedback, you all made me feel a little better

Im a floridian too
My take: youve got Miami and FSU in the bag.
UF is so tricky though.. I have known kids to be rejected there who got into extremely prestigous private schools. But then a lot of people who's stats were worse than yours got accepted, so its just sort of unpredictable.
Basically every person in the top ten in my school's senior class is going UF early decision because of bright futures scholarships, its getting so much more competitive.
What I do know is that UF places more emphasis on SAT scores than anything else. Yours are average for UF so I think youve got a really good shot

FSU is a lock, and I think you have a good chance at Miami and UF. It's hard to really tell with UM and UF because you're borderline for both. I think you'll get into at least 1 out of UM or UF...I'd be surprised if both rejected you.
