Your SAT or ACT will hurt your chances of admission. Last year, average SAT score was about 1330/1600 (or 1870/2400), and you are 200 points below average. You should raise your SAT or ACT scores for admission, especially when UCSB is a great computer science school.

Also, I need lot more information about you than just GPA, SAT and your major. I’m not even sure if what you gave is a UC GPA or school GPA, as UC will convert your school GPA into UC GPA and that may vary significantly.

Since CS is very competitive at UCSB, you need to be above the averages for GPA and test scores to have a solid chance at an acceptance. I agree that your test scores are going to hurt your chances since they way below the 25th percentile. The personal insight questions and EC’s can help your chances but the order of importance for the UC’s is GPA/test scores/HS course rigor and essays.

GPA and test scores of middle 25%-75% students

High School GPA: 3.92 - 4.23
ACT Composite Score: 27 - 33
SAT Critical Reading: 570 - 700

Good Luck.
