<p>I know of a couple people that lied on their app about hardships and being the first in their family to go to college. Both were from affluent families whose parents had gone to college. They played the race/sympathy card, lied, and got in.</p>

<p>well, most people exagerrate, but not usually about hardships in life...</p>
