Hi. I need some advice/ ideas on this. I'm very confused about weather i should apply to the EOP/ HEOP or through the regular admissions at the colleges. New Yorkers know what i'm talking about. I am economically disadvantaged. My SAT scores are 1660 (critical reading: 430, math:670, writing: 560), my GPA is 92 out of 95 which is roughly about 3.8? My college preferences are the 4 SUNYs (Stonybrook, Buffalo, Albany and Binghamton), NYU poly and Syracuse. If i apply through the EOP/ HEOP do i have a good chance to be accepted in the program? Or would you suggest that i should retake the SAT and score higher on the critical reading to be safe for the general admissions? I really do hope i can make it into the EOP/ HEOP program though...

suggestions from anyone?

anyone???

Try Nyu’s heop program [HEOP Getting In](http://nyu-op.org/heop/getting_in/index.htm)

Your GPA is too high for EOP Albany: As per their website:
“Grade point average (GPA): Between 80 and 89
SAT (Critical Reading + Math): 900-1090, minimum of 400 on Critical Reading”

UB:
Doesn’t post their number. I recommend contacting them, but it looks like 89 is their cut off.

SB: From last year’s stats its apparent they top at 90. Again, contact them and ask if 92 is too high.

Binghamton: We asked them about their EOP policy and they said it’s very strict, you MUST have both lower GPA and SAT scores, not just one or the other. Hence, you’re not eligible as 92 is too high for EOP there.

It’s also too high to Syracuse’s HEOP (their max is 84.5).

Please try to retake the SAT and improve your CR. That’s holding you back. I think you have a chance at Albany’s RD. Again, try as hard as you can to improve your CR. (BTW you can always apply via EOP and still get accepted for Regular admissions if you’re found to be ineligible for EOP/HEOP!

Best of luck and keep us posted!

Thank you^ I did retake and i don’t think i did any better ):. Probably worse because i panicked during the exam… ):. Not sure what to do now… I thought EOP could still take High GPA students?
