At times I think I have an okay chance of getting in, but my gpa/rank really bothers me.

5.0 scale? How does that work?

Back to your question. If you are out of state, your chances are slim to none unless you get your test scores up significantly. If you are in state, then maybe you will get in on review. The top 8% in state students take up a lot of the available slots. You need a hook. High test scores got my son in plus he is an Eagle Scout and has had lots of leadership and community service. He applied for CNS - Math. He was accepted CNS -CS. They say he can double major in CS and Math, no prob. Good luck!

I am in state.
5.0 scale =
Regs classes 97 - 100 = 4.0
Honors classes 97 - 100 = 4.5
AP classes 97 - 100 = 5.0

Odd system. Have never heard of that. At our school 94-100 is an A, 4.0. That is what I think of as the “unweighted” calculation.

Weighted would add points: honors gets 6 points, AP gets 7 points. That 6 or 7 points “weights” your GPA.

At least that is how I thought the terms applied.

To keep our students from being penalized by our old fashioned grading system, our school does also provide the 90-100 is a 4.0 calculation, too.

Interesting. What is your average on a 1-100 type calculation? 92?
