Teacher Recs: Didn't get to read them, but I'm sure they were stellar (they have a history with the schools I applied to and write amazing recs).

**Here's the big one: Researched at university as part of an internship and received a stipend. Rigorous 6 hr/day schedule over the summer and racked up hundreds of hrs (the exact number slips my mind right now). Entered research in Siemens and Intel and got semifinalist in both. Also got a sup. rec from professor and attached an abstract.
So yeah, I obviously didn't go into so much detail on my app, but you get the idea...

What I like is anything really big that stands out against others (national award, etc). So, anyway, what are my chances at:

UPenn (CAS), JHU, Duke, Columbia, Cornell?

Already admitted to UMich, so I'm going to some college... Thanks!

ur too varied, but it looks like u got a pretty good chance at duke and cornell

if u emphasized the science research thing, you should be in at those

columbia , and upenn are both reaches

i dont really know much about jhu, so no comment on that

btw u do fall under a stereotype ie. asian male - piano, tennis and math
no offense or anything, just saying

^agreed, but if u apply early to penn u have a chance

Um semifinalist in Siemens and Intel? Definitely great chances at ALL the schools.

Your stats are pretty impressive. I say great shot at all of them.

I think some of you may be missing things cause' it looks more like a laundry list than a well thought out post. I was in something of a rush when I posted, so, my apologies for that. Bump.

"What I like is anything really big that stands out against others (national award, etc)."

Lol, just spotted this error. The irony is it makes me sound arrogant rather than modest as I had intended. Instead of "like", I meant to say "lack". Sorry guys. Keep responding.

I like what I see, you have dec chances @ all I would think (I think it's easier just to compare yourself to the general university distribution @ your school (How many people got accepted to ivies, other publics, etc.), but ewwwwww...HILARY

good luck!! i think you have a good chance at most of them, especially with the intel/siemens distinctions

what are you planning on majoring in?

"ewwwwww...HILARY" - lol, aw come on, she isn't that bad...

"what are you planning on majoring in?" - Biology. Aiming at an eventual acceptance to med school.

please tell me you got a cornell likely letter.

other than that i would be pretty amazed if you did not get into two of the three ivies if your essays and recs are as stratospheric as you say they are.
