Have revised my list a bit. This is my list, in order of which I want to go to most. Please tell if these are reasonable.

I have a 2310 SAT, around a 3.9 GPA, and will have taken 7 AP's by graduation.

EC's include leadership in varsity sports and clubs, tutoring, martial arts, summer programs, volunteering, two big internships, and published research. Also have studied a few different languages.

EC's are probably my strongest point, even though I don't want to go into detail here.

Choices:

Barnard-new favorite (possibly ED)

Brown

Georgetown

Yale
5.Tufts

Northwestern

Cornell (CALS or HumEc)

UNC-CH (EA, OOS)

stand out somehow

edit: I think I commented on your other thread, but oh well. lol

thanks, yea. umm my EC’s are pretty unique, just dont want to go into detail. but now im seriously considering barnard, what are my chances there specifically?

For that one then I think if you apply ED, you will almost definitely get in.

You have a great shot at Barnard. I’m not sure if there is an ED advantage. Maybe check on that first. You’ve selected a good list of matches with a couple reaches mixed in.

Oh…this was my list of what i thought were reaches…

I mean, as you said, your ecs look nice and you have good SAT/gpa. Yale and Brown would be high reaches. Northwestern might be a slight reach, but Georgetown, Tufts, Cornell, and UNC i think are good matches for you.

ok thanks…anyone else?

I think you should apply ED to Brown instead of Barnard, why waste your ED option on a school which you would probably more than likely get into RD?

No, don’t apply ED Brown. When I visited the school, they said that they take the same exact caliber of students and it doesn’t confer an advantage. The ED acceptance rate is misleading because the students who apply ED are better students.

Well, when it comes down to it, I think I like Barnard better. And from what people have told me, Barnard is extremely selective, and would still be a “reach”

It really is a great school. And after freshman year, you can dorm with Columbia and do everything with them. But even just the name Barnard holds a lot of weight and respect (not that prestige should be the reason behind choosing and college).

So I’m thinking this is my plan:

Apply Barnard ED, UNC EA

If I get rejected/deferred, apply to others.

I really just don’t want to spend too much time on applications/college search, and it would be great if i could be done by december.
