I'd say that you should get into JHU ED, that would be a match.

Otherwise.. Duke & U-Penn will be high reaches. There are a lot of people with your stats who don't get in BUT there are a lot who do. If those from ur school who are considering Penn are much more 'academically qualified' than you are, Penn would be harder than Duke.

I would say Cornell is a slight reach. You are likely in NYU & University of Michigan. Rutgers is a safety.
Good luck!

Does anyone know what kinds of scholarships NYU offers to National Merit Semis? Even though my parents make a combined income that just tips 6 figures, there's no way they can afford the entire burden of paying. And, if I have to got to med school, well that's even more money on top...

If you want to go into premed, JHU is going to be just as tough as Duke and UPenn. Still, good stats to give you a chance at any. I'd say JHU, Duke, and UPenn are low reach/high match, while Cornell and NYU are low matches.

Rutgers is a shoo-in.
Michigan is a solid match.

im also a junior going for premed and interested in jhu and penn. id apply ed to hopkins, but i want to compare offers from other schools. but anyways, onto 2-iron's comment. it sounds as if they think that going for premed at hopkins makes admission tougher when in reality, they dont base decisions on major except for those going for bme [premed isnt a major anyways, its a program]

No, 2-iron is correct; it is far more difficult to get into JHU for a biology, chem, or biochem major than for other majors. Apparently, of the people who apply for a biology major from NJ, only 5% are accepted. It's rather unfortunate.
