CHANCES LAFAYETTE EDII(2)?

I was rejected from my ED1 school, and really regret not having laf as my ed1.
I have done 1 interview and visited the campus twice and love it. I attend a prestigious all girls school in Pennsylvania. Unfortunately, I recognize that my scores and GPA fall short but am hoping that showing interest and extracurriculars may make up for some of this? Please be honest, I don't want to apply and be rejected again! I'd be applying as an english major.

Here's my info:

You asked for honesty, so here goes. I don’t think you are going to get much response to your request. This is not a very active board and most parents don’t like chance threads. As the parent of a recent Laf graduate, I will give you my impressions after reading your post. Lafayette is a very selective school and you can compare your stats to accepted students from previous years. You state that your grades and test scores are not in the range. You did not include your complete test scores. Not knowing your school, I don’t know if it deflates grades. Your ECs do look good, but as a parent, I would have encouraged you to drop a few ECs and spend a bit more time working on your academics. To me, classes should be your first priority. Obviously, an anonymous person on a message board can’t tell you what you should do; I don’t know your whole story. Doesn’t that prestigious private school have a counselor that knows you? I would think that is a main reason for paying tuition; you should have someone with experience and knowledge to give you better advice.

I tend to agree with the above poster. Your senior classes look kind of light. What is your academic rigor like over the 4 year span?

Nobody here works for admissions. If your HS has a good guidance department, talk to your guidance counselor about the acceptance experiences from your HS. If your HS has Naviance, compare your stats to the scattergram. You can also compare your statistics to the class profile on Lafayette’s website.
