I go to a MD Community college and plan to transfer to Rutgers. What are the chances of someone transferring to Rutgers(engineering program) with less than a 3.0 gpa?

Also, if you have your associates degree, will that increase your chance significantly?

I think it is easier to transfer with an Associate Degree to any state school. And it all depends on the school you are applying to. SAS is less competitive than the other ones so I would try that one first. I would also try to apply really early and if you don’t get in, just wait until you finish you associate and apply again. Good luck!!

It is still possible to be admitted to the School of Engineering with a GPA slightly below 3.0 but ideally you would want a GPA of 3.0 or above combined with a strong background in college-level math and science coursework (specifically 2 semesters each of: chemistry; physics; and 4-credit Calculus). This year, most successful transfer candidates had up to and including Calculus II with primarily As and Bs in all math and science courses.
