Chances? live in FL

Your ECs are good but your scores are low (2 3’s on APs, especially easy/humanities ones, doesn’t look good at all, and 2020 is pretty low on SAT for MIT). Work on bringing your SAT up and maybe try the ACT. Summer camps don’t really matter in admissions.

You’re going to need to really pull it out with physics/calculus your senior year if you haven’t done any phys/calc classes yet. Overall, I’d say your chances are low because of your academics (rigor-wise, AP score-wise, and test-wise), but if you can bring those up, you have a shot.

Dude/dudette, actually try in your studies/ tests. It’ll prepare you for college.

That being said, you have a pretty good chance of getting in. Just remember to apply early (I think the deadline is Nov 1st) for an early response and scholarship chances?

Why not just go to University of Florida ? Its 1/3 of the price of PSU>

For your reference, last month I attended the reception for admitted students and families in Philadelphia. We were told this year the average SAT score of admitted students in NJ and PA was 2202, average UW GPA was 3.92. I dont know these stats in FL but guess very similar.

You need to retake the SAT and increase your score to at least 2200. Your GPA and ECs are fine, but your AP scores are weak thus far. Overall you have a decent chance of getting in once you retake the SAT. Indians are fairly underrepresented at Vanderbilt. One of my best friends is a civil engineer and according to him the CE department is awesome, so Vandy is a great choice.

Not all summer camps are equal. There are some very competitive and excellent summer camps/ programs in both the math and sciences that are well received on college applications.

Great extracurricular’s!!! and scores a lot better than mine…ranking is important …I was 15/425 my GPA was 3.9 UW and was 4.42 recalculated…use form in link…

(the highest GPA you can have is a 5.0 and that would only be if all your classes were AP and Dual enrollment)
[What Is Your ?Estimated? Recalculated GPA](http://www.docstoc.com/docs/68078111/What-Is-Your-“Estimated”-Recalculated-GPA)

UF does not look at recommendations

You have an excellent chance…remember to have a strong senior schedule…and they do NOT calculate any senior classes into your GPA for admission

Something else off-putting about your post: “without even studying”, “I didn’t try at all”

Are you trying to say you are better than your statistics? (Which are actually pretty good)
Or are you trying to justify something to yourself?

You are what you are, and you did what you did; statements like that don’t reflect very well on you. Don’t believe me? Put it on your application …

No hate, I’ve been victim of the same thing. Vocalizing it is worthless though.

FYI, all recommendations are positive. In 13 years, I’ve read three or four that weren’t. The anecdotes are what make them helpful, not just a positive tone.

First off, the UMSL joint program does not get you a WashU degree. Second, you do not apply to WashU to participate in the joint program. The only thing the joint program uses is the lab facilities at WashU.

Tl;dr: if you want to apply to WashU, just know that there is a 0% chance that you can major in Civil.

@skibum of course. That’s not what I was referring to. I meant “college experience” type summer camps that Columbia and UT probably offer.

Its not always about the money.

I have a lot of family in Phili, and my parets are moving to penn after i leave high school.

I know i only took my sat once without studying at all so i should bring that up. And math and sciences are what i am best at, im bad at social studies.

I only put the didnt study part because I know i can do much better than what I have previously scored

Im sure i will have the 2200 sat score after i retake it and study. Ive heard great things about Vandy and the campus is beatiful

You’re in 100% guaranteed. My friend got in with a 23 ACT and a 3.5 uw gpa/ 4.0 w. A lot of people actually got in with under a 25 ACT.

Yeah i know my freshman year i got distracted so i had to start trying this year.

I know UNC does not have engineering, but the campus is nice, and UNC seems to be a great college town. I am not set on civil engineering it is a field of interest. I also am interested in poli sci, journalism, and buissness to a lesser extent and UNC can expose me to all of this and more.

I visited the UF campus and loved it. Do you think I can get honors?
