freshman and sophomore year did poorly(not motivated)
junior and senior year, straight A's</p>

<p>im ranked in top30% at a competetive public high...(sent 15+ last year to HYPS, and another 70+ to top schools, which was about 20% of the class)</p>

have had a spanish tutor and japanese tutor for the past 1.5 year (not cause im dumb but to learn...i didnt take japanese in highschool till junior year, but i started in japanese 3 my junior year cause i had been tutored for eva.
i hope to start college in intermediate levels of japanese and spanish
and
also take classes in mandarin and italian...
and i plan on doublemajoring in japanese and economics</p>

<p>If your essays are as good as you think they are, you have a good shot. My S was admitted with a 3.46 (UW)</p>

<p>A little bit of an upward trend senior year, 3.8 first grading quarter, which was reported to admissions. Other stats: essays, recommendations, courses attempted (e.g., finished AP calc BC as a sophomore), and essays were very good, world class EC's. Test scores top 1%.</p>

<p>With great rec's and amazing essays, you should get in.</p>
