bumppppppppppp!

hey you're just like me. a good applicant with medicore test scores. Sorry i don't know what your chances might be but best of luck.

thanks. mann, everything else is perfect except test scores..i hate them! good luck to you too!

UC requires SAT 2 that may be to your advantage because if you can choose a subject in which you excel than you will help bump up your original score. I know that UCD has a formula that you can access by going to their admissions page. I also know that the cut off for this admissions cycle was something like 8000 points for ucd. The thing that many rejected students didn't have in place was the number of A-G courses beyond the min. requirement. Also the only GPA they look at for admission is 10 and 11 but they look at the courseload for the whole four years. that confused people
as well. I think you should prep over the summer and take the SAT again in the fall. Your score reports have to be in I think in Jan so that gives you a couple of dates to choose from. Good Luck

Your test scores are really going to hold you back. If it's at all possible you should try and take it again and prepare more.

I will be taking the ACT/SATIIs in June. Hopefully I have better luck with that. In the case that my test scores suck, can my GPA compensate for my low test scores in the eyes on an UC admissions officer? (b/c not everyone is a good test taker...)

u have an awesome resume.

no offense intended, but is it really easy to get As in your school? i just wanted to know because normally, those who succeed in their high school classes tend to get better SAT scores. im sure u r really smart though, looking at your entire resume!

I'm not extremely familiar with the inner workings of the UC system, but in general a GPA can only help so much. If you're test scores are too low, especially on math and CR, it can absolutely kill you. Out of curiosity, what is the break down for your SAT?

The ACT can compensate for it. They'll still see the SAT when you submit SAT 2s but it wont matter too much. Is the GPA your UC gpa or your weighted high school GPA (UC actually weights their unweighted gpa, however it may not be the same as your schools)?
