I know my Stats are low, but what do you think…?

Should I apply directly to CGS? (Sorry I actually don’t really know how it works…do you get deferred to it if you don’t get into any schools or can you apply there?) I would like to apply to CAS, but I would like to actually get in…so…Please help! Thanks!

Yes, if you don't get into CAS there's a chance that they will differ you to CGS, so if you don't mind getting into CGS, then I'd say that you should apply directly to CAS.
I think you have a chance. As you can see, you weakness is your SAT score (1930) and you GPA, but you said that your essay and recs are strong, they give you a boost in your chances.
I don't know about the financial scene in your home, but you will likely to pay some extra money if you get in because they probably won't give you scholarships for your stats.
After all, it's really up to luck sometimes. I have been critisized for being too harsh on chance thread, so your chance of getting into BU could be better than what I said.

Thank you so much for your advice!
No, I don't need fin aid.
Alright, I'll apply directly to CAS.
Do you think I should consider visiting the campus?
(Does it give a tiny boost in my chances??..or no?)

My ex-roommate was an admission ambassador (leads the campus tours) and he said there's about (or more) than 3 campus tours per day. That shows you how many students actually tour the campus. So, unless they ask you on the application:"have you toured the campus before?" I don't think it will give you a boost.

I think you should read through the chance threads on this board, they contain some useful info. from other current students. For example, call the BU regional representative or do whatever to show your interest in BU. A university like BU would expect you to fully involve yourself into its programs and be able to become successful after you graduate. So if you can prove that you could contribute to the college and be able to excel in it, you chance will be greatly improved.

UPDATE: 1300(CR&M) 630(W)

So, it says (on the website) that the application deadline is JAN 1st...is it the POSTMARK deadline???

Also, how do they look at GPA? Do they recalculate? If so, how? Academic unweighted? Overall unweighted??

probably in for CGS
