I also have a job and am a lifeguard.

Other schools that I am applying are UCLA, UC San Diego, UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, UC Berkley, Cal Poly SLO, and Boston University.

Can someone give me some direction because I know almost nothing about U of M since most of the kids I know tend to stay in Cali for college and know nothing about out-of-state schools such as myself. Do I have a chance of getting accepted? I am applying to LSA.

Also, what would be other schools that I should consider applying to on the eastcoast/anywhere out of state that might be similar to the others that I am applying to? (Large student body)

One more question: How is the weather?

the weather= freeeeeeeeeeeezing in the winter, but about 60 now, soon to slip down into the 50s,40s, etc.

your SAT is low for mich, but if it went up to a 1300 or so M V, then you'd have a decent chance.
