I want to major in mechanic engineering, im really interested in it. My father works at cosco usa as mechanic engineer, and he can help me with that career. The one which i really want to get into is Cornell!

I came to usa only for two years as a chinese student, i have been working hard in my sophomore year, but the language problems just stop me from improving my school works. My gpa is too low, this is my junior year right now, and I only have a gpa of 3.3 currently, and if I get all a+ in this year, I will have a 3.6, which is still not enough. I think that's going to hurt me so much. This year i have 4 Honors classes, and next i will have 4 AP's which are related with engineering,

My math teacher all loves me, and the AP calculus teacher said she will try her best to write me a good recommandation. I can learn things really fast, I can selfstudy AP chem or Phys or Cal, but that wont go on my application anyway, i need a chance to show people that im really working hard. I just took my first SAT practice test and got 1860 on it, 760 on math; i have one year left, but im bringing it up to 2200, i'm trying my best on the this.

For something other than school works, I'm proud that i have been swimming for 11 years, and i have top places in the state; my coach said that its going to help me, but i don't know if that works on cornell ( It's takes me 3 hours a day, 6 days in a week, so i don't have plenty hours to study like others, it can be one of the reason why i'm not that outstanding in my school). I made decision not to give up on swimming when i came here, but now i feel a little regret.

I do volunteer at People to People International, and hospital. Im pretty much sure i will get over 200 service hours by the time i give my applications to cornell.

A lot people told me that ED is really helpful; however, i really think my poor score's is going to hurt me. I was thinking that if i will go for interview, is that going to help me a lot? and maybe i can explain why im not outstanding in my class?

I REALLY want to get into cornell. It's my dream, and also for my family's
reputation. I really feel sorry that i didn't work hard in freshmen but it's too late.

Please give me some advices, I will be very thankful for your help.
