Your SAT and GPA are a bit low for UCB, but more importantly–you are at a severe disadvantage as an OOS student. UCB gives heavy favor to California residents, and even among those, you see 4.0s and 2400 SATs rejected. UCB won’t meet need for an OOS student, either, so you’re at a further disadvantage needing aid.

Your stats will be perfectly strong for a number of other schools where being out-of-state and low income won’t be a disadvantage–what are your other options? I’d call UCB an extreme reach, given even if you can get in, you won’t get fin-aid.

I wouldn’t call it an extreme reach. I have two cousins at Berkeley and one of them has a somewhat similar resume.

Thanks for the chances guys. I made another post on this forum with more info, so closing this one.
