I am an international student who is studying in an american university right now. I am thinking about transfer to another school. I was a high school exchange student and graduated from a high school in michigan. i will end up with 67 credits at end of this semester. my GPA is more than 3.9. However, i almost didnt join any school activities. I had a scholarship. no SAT, ACT, and TOEFL scores. i was also in the Dean's list a couple times and President's List one time.

the school i am gonna apply are:

UIUC, MSU, Minnesota, Rochester(didnt decide if i am gonna try that one yet) , and miami university oxford.

chances me plz. and give me some more suggestions about what schools i should try.

thankssss

with most schools, if your never took the SAT/ ACT they don't require it. You have a good chance at all of these schools. What is your major? I know NYU does not require SAT/ACT if you never took them. For some colleges 67 credits might exceed their limit, you might want to look into that.

thanks for the reply. really appreciate. i didnt decide my major yet, but it is probably between accounting or finance. How is NYU? i dont really know a lot of that school.

looking for some more suggestions!

lol

AU has a decent business school. Why the urge to leave American?

The state schools might favor in-state resident transfers. UR is good, but I wonder if you'll like it better than D.C.

NYU Stern is a great business school. Most schools require you to have a major when you transfer.

NYU is a good one but i didnt take SAT. so i probably cant apply it.
"AU has a decent business school. Why the urge to leave American?" what do u mean by that? i didnt get it.

do i have a chance for rochester? I thought it is a really tough school, and my good GPA wont help me a lot. my chance for that school is probably less than 10%. so i dont really know if i should apply that one.

the one i really want to go is UIUC. it is a really good school. whats my chance for that one?

how about UT austin?

wow, i just find out that NYU dont require SAT and TOEFL for transfer international student, which means i probably have to try that one as well.
do you guys think i have a chance for that tough school?

I didn't think the question is so difficult shoe1989. Just wondering why you want to transfer? UIUC seems an odd choice since almost all the students are from IL, UR is cold and depressing, and I wouldn't think MSU (Michigan State?) or Miami (Ohio) would be any better than Kogod at AU.

thank u for the reply. the school i am studying at is really easy for me. i play games almost everyday and dont have to work hard. my english is not that good, which is the reason i am not 4.0. i got B and A- for my speech class and english class, and got As for rest of them. i just want to find a school that can give me some challenges. also, my school is a big party school. people start parties from thuesday night to sunday night. although i have to say there are some really good students here, i dont really like the school culture. " Hope you guys dont follow the school culture after ur first year of study at here." said by my professor in the first day of class when i was a freshman.

is essay important? it seems really hard for me to write some of the odd essays. they are straightforward, nothing to say. for example: "why do u want to transfer to XXXX?" why? because they provide better education. thats it for me.
