i know these are weird stats but thats who i am. thanks

yeah.... chances?

go to the What are my chances? board....thats why it was created.

plus.....there's no way you can tell....its all a crapshoot with the Ivies.

well yeah just wondering spec. with yale

i dont mean to sound rude....but quite honestly....i dont think ANYONE knows who has what it takes to be accepted or not. It's sad really....

are you asian? if you are i'd say you're chances are limited....how are your recs? essays?

You have alot of the needed elements, it seems. But, your test scores could be higher. A 1310 is fairly low for Yale (although certainly not too low). If you could retake in January and get a 1400+ overall, then your chances would be significantly increased.

Overall, it is hard to predict anything but a refusal or unknown, with a few exceptions (I believe that davidrune was considered a likely).

While this is a good place to find out about Yale or Ivy specific stats (I am not a fan of the Chances board; I find it to be mostly guesses and cries for help instead of discussion), we could start one thread here to contain all of the chances questions (I know a predictions page was started earlier). Just an idea.

Your SATs do seem low. Try to retake them, and if you don't improve, don't worry about it; you don't have to send those scores.

Woah. You are a member of a whooooooole lot of clubs. Something I remember an AO saying at a Yale info session was that they prefer "depth over breadth." They like to see passion for a few things, rather than someone who can dip their toes in every club available. I'm not saying that's what you do, but you might want to focus on just two or three of those clubs on your application. You should definitely mention the others because I know they're all probably important to you, but make sure you let them know which ones you are especially passionate about.

As for chances... no clue. Take any predictions you get with a grain of salt. Sure, you have a good shot, but it's pretty much impossible for anyone to know if you will get in or not. Good luck! :)

i agree with sprezzatura about the ec's. if you spend no more than 30 minutes a week for these clubs (just attending meetings), then do not include them in your app.

what if i'm an officer and i actually plan everythign? and how can it hurt me to include all my EC's?

I understand what situation you are in with your EC's. I am in a lot of clubs, but I hold an important positions in each one. I suggest that you maybe attach a little letter describing your involvement in these clubs. What's the worst they'll do? I do have a comment from what Sprezzatura said. My admissions officer told me that Yale likes to see 1.) That you have put a lot of time into one major club, or 2.) That you participate in a bunch of things that makes you well-rounded. In no way does a long list of clubs make up for lack of dedication. As I said before, find some way where you can let your admissions officer know that you hold a crucial role in your EC's.

I said to let them know that you participate in all of these clubs, and especially which ones you're passionate about. If you're passionate about all of them, by all means, go for it and tell them in depth about every club you're involved in and what you're responsibilities are. I didn't mean to make it seem like just because you're a member of a bunch of clubs that you aren't 100% committed to each one of them. It only seems like that on paper if you merely list all 31 clubs you're in, your position, and nothing else.

ok.....i understand....i just interpreted your post incorrectly...it's the fault of online chatting.

Lol I know what you mean. Online chatting has ruined sarcasm for me. I can't do it online. If I ever do, people think I'm being bitchy. lol

anyhow, woudl that go under the "additional info" box? i'm doing it online

Create a resume and put that info there.

haha i'll try, its pretty hard creating a resume that'll look professional in that stupid additional box thing

Which is precisely why I'm just sending my resume separately :)

Wow, you can send a resume etc. separately ? you mean apply online, submit commonapp and supplement online, and send resume snail mail?
Also, for common app, My activities are far more than those 8 boxes allow, and my awards, honors, positions etc. overflows that box, what should I do, additional info?
How many words can I fit onto that additional info page?

i did additional info , and i FILLED UP THE ENTIRE PAGE with extra everything
