<p>Wanted to know my chances at UVA, William and Mary, VT, GMU, JMU, and the US Merchant Marine Academy. Trying to stay instate for tuition purposes but I have family in the Merchant Marine and I know it pays well so I was going to apply to King's Point and SUNY Maritime as well. Know UVA and W&M are reaches but I was hoping the being Hispanic factor would help me out. Will chance back if requested. Thanks.</p>

<p>You should get into VT (anything but engineering), GMU, and JMU</p>

<p>Hi! Im also applying to UVA! I’m assuming your instate right? Your GPA is very similar to mine, and I was told that from nova, its .2 lower than the average. I think your ecs are very solid, and you look like a very well rounded student. I would say reach for UVA and WM (like u said… I mean its a reach for everyone unless youre from Southern VA). Tech - match
JMU - in, GMU- safety. I don’t know much about the other school.</p>

<p>I’m from Virginia Beach (SE), why are southern VA applicants more likely to get in?</p>
