I am going to major in International Relations, and my college essay is very good (as I've been told). Teacher recs are great

I've applied RD to:
Syracuse
BU
GWU (interview went really well)
American
Northeastern

My big issue is my ACT and the fact that I got a C in honors chem last year, which has caused me to worry greatly about getting into these unis. So any help with some matches or safeties would be great, as well as my chances for these schools. If you would like a chance back, I'd love to! Thank you

I would need to see your unweighted GPA to be able to judge - if you know all of your grades throughout high school you should be able to calculate it easily enough.

Assuming it is a 4.4/5.0 you have a good shot at these except BU and Northeastern. I think that your ec’s good, your recs should be good, and your overall background in international affairs are good. Therefore I think the above mentioned schools should only be a slight reach.

Syracuse, American and BU accept >50% of applicants, GW accepts about 37% (a lot higher than that ED, lower than that RD), Northeastern about 36%.

So: If anything, NE and GW are reaches, the others matches.

How about UMass Amherst and UNH as safeties?

Lol what? BU listed as a reach? are you guys insane?

Syracuse - bring up the ACT/SAT don’t know if you took the SAT and you should be match
BU - match
GWU (interview went really well) reach
American ?
Northeastern reach

You’ll probably get in to at least one: BU, American or Syracuse. You’re getting some incorrect advice here, so take heed. GW and NE are your reaches. BU, American, and Cuse are matches.
