Hi there,

I am a junior - Asian Girl, this year, and wanting to apply to George Washington University next year in Early Decision.

GPA: 4.369 (weighted)
SAT: 1730 (all three, first time, planning to retake it two more times)
Rank: n/a
ACT: going to take
Activities: Beta Club, Science National Honor Society, Spanish National Honor Society, Interact Club, Key Club, Mu Alpha Theta, National English Honor Society, Spanish Club, Science Club,
AP's: Chemistry, US History, Psychology
Planning to take: Dual Bio, AP Gov, AB Calc, Dual College Comp, AP Art History

Others: Worked at Kumon Learning Center, regular volunteer at hospital, going to volunteer at VCU's MCV campus this summer, Secretary of Science National Honor Society

Take this advice for what it is (I’m also a potential student, so I cannot be 100% certain):

Although I have yet to be admitted (I’m an RD applicant), I’ve been told that I have solid admittance chances. Our stats are similar, so I would conclude that you also have solid admittance chances.

I would, though, as you have stated, take the SAT (or the ACT) again.

From the GWU website, their SAT/ACT stats are listed as follows:

Mid 50 percent SAT range: 1900-2100
Mid 50 percent ACT range: 28-31

Otherwise, you’re set. Just be sure to demonstrate your interest!

Good luck and happy college shopping!

I think you are a good applicant, but the SAT is a little weak. Why don’t you try the ACT? Also, I don’t think GW is particularly fond of people who take the test too many times. Apply early and demonstrate a lot of interest!

Good chance with your grades and EC’s, but definitely try to raise your SAT score, or better yet try the ACT.
@Onlytimewilltell: I would have to disagree; I took the SAT 3 times and the ACT 3 times and was accepted ED1, so I don’t think it’ll hurt.

@onlytime they dont want you taking it like 40 times obviously but I took it three and I got in so i don’t think it matters.

as for the OP, you have a good chance if you raise your SAT score

Oh, haha. I get it. Do you mind chancing me?
