I was talking to my brother the other night about colleges and he told me to look at Columbia. I can't seem to find stats about the class of 2010 so I really have no idea what they are looking for.

Recc: Will be VERY strong.
Essay: Strong.

Would I stand a chance?

You think a little too highly of yourself -- your EC's are not "phenomenal," for one. I'd say they're a bit below what the average Columbia applicant has.

You've read your recs to know that they'll be "VERY strong"? Likely not. And I doubt you have any basis for saying that your essay is "strong."

Good for them. Hopefully not everyone has 2400 SAT's and class president on their list. Like everyone else on these boards.

Oh and btw. I didn't ask for you if you thought my EC's were "phenomenal" or not. I asked my chances. I value your opinion, but I just felt what you wrote was a little arrogant.

Thanks anyways.

You have "have no idea what they are looking for" but you seem to have enough of an idea as to how your ECs, recs (which you haven't read) and essay (which you probably haven't drafted) stand up to the Columbia applicant pool? You're calling me arrogant and you're the one who comes on here raving about your phenomenal ECs, VERY strong recs and strong essays?
