Chances! No?

Hi. First of all, I’d like to say that Brown is one of my top choices; I think the no core curriculum, follow your heart aspect of the university is great, and from what I’ve heard, it’s a great place to be (will visit soon). With that being said, I’ve posted my stats below with about everything I can think of up until now. I’d appreciate it if you’d give me some pointers and/or suggestions that will help my chances; anything, even a word, will be appreciated. On another note, I aim to be a physician, and I am thus applying to the PLME program. Thanks a lot!

Note: I have posted this in the “Multiple Degree Forum” as well; sorry if this is overdoing it.

I know there are, most likely, no benefits to giving me some suggestions, but I'd really appreciate it if someone could help out; even a word or two would be nice. Thanks.

Your ECs are highly impressive. I'd say you're good to go if you get those 750s on the SATIIs, and if you explain those Freshman grades. Besides, you'll look like you really grew as a person as you pulled up performance as an upperclassman.

Thanks a lot; I hope to find a way to account for the freshman year grades through the essay(s).

If I were you, I would not make your essay about freshman year troubles unless it can make an interesting, good essay. If it doesn't work as an essay, you can just send a short note along with your app.

That's a good point bjrwrh; I can probably add a supplemental essay or a short note explaining the freshman year grades, so that I can concentrate more on the more intresting aspects of my life on the essay. Thanks!

Any further help will be appreciated; especially if you can tell me about the PLME program!

good stuff

if you love brown just apply ED, try your darn-est to show who you are, and i agree with bjrwrh...don't waste your essay explaining freshmen grades that colleges dont care about anyways. good luck, i think you'll do well :)

i know some stuff about the PLME, if you have questions. try going to the site (<a href="http://bms.brown.edu/plme/%5B/url%5D">http://bms.brown.edu/plme/</a>) and reading up about it too.

Thanks for the link and the nice words, starryeyedgirl...yea, I'm probably going to work on those Brown essays a lot; I heard they take a good chunk of the application consideration.
