Chances for BU, Suffolk, Northeastern and Umass-Boston

You ACT scores seem very good, although science may be a bit low, as well as math.
Even though I wouldn’t worry about class rank, your GPA seems a bit low, but your extracurriculars
look stunning. And for colleges, if you get a 3.0 or above in your college courses, it means you will
be a good fit for college, since it shows you already have experience.

Now:
-I was, like you, interested in Boston University, but what stopped me from going was the selective
program for MD admissions. Oh well…
-BU has had a very competitive admissions pool in 2014, accepting only just the third of the students that applied.
3.5 is in the exact mid-50% range for BU, while the mid-range for the ACT scores is 30, so you qualified! Your extracurriculars should give you a boost.
-Anything helps when getting into this university. Are you scheduling an interview? Are you keeping up with your grades?

-For Suffolk, you’ll get in. Don’t freak out.

-Northeastern may be a bit of a challenge. Your GPA is low, compared to the 3.7 average GPA of the attending students. Your ACT score may also be a bit low, with Northeastern at 30, and yours at a 29. However, Northeastern as holistic admissions, so again, your extracurricular activities will play well in your favor.
-For me, I would probably consider this a reach school though, since the acceptance rate is only at a 5.6% for 2012-2013.

-Again, don’t freak out. You’ll get into Umass-Boston.
Good luck! :)

By the way, what is an MCPHS transfer? (This may be a stupid question).
I’m applying to MCHPS for one of the Pre-med pathways.
If you are a transfer student from there, is it bad?
