<p>The schools I'm thinking of applying to are ...
Northwestern
Notre Dame (Legacy)
Rice

UVA

University of Illinois (Instate)

Villanova</p>

<p>I am a rising senior. I am white, and am from an upper middle class family... no financial aid is needed.
ACT: 33 (35E, 34M, 32R, 31S) I will probably retake the test in September
SAT: 2310 (800M, 720CR, 790W, 10 Essay)
SAT Subject test: 800 math 2, 790 US History... Will take another one/two in fall.
Unweighted GPA: 5.0 (we're on a 5 point GPA)
Weighted GPA: 5.7
Class rank: 3/561
AP Scores: AP Euro (4), APUSH (still waiting), APlang (still waiting), AP Calc AB (still waiting)
I will be taking AP stats, AP Chemistry and AP Spanish next year</p>

<p>Extra-curriculars
---Music---
-Marching band (section leader) (played at disney world)
-Pep Band
-Wind Ensemble (top band)
-All regional band
-All state orchestra
-Piano (10+ years)
-Play at old folks home with a couple bandmates
-I joined a community band this summer</p>

<p>Other stuff
-Math team (on varsity, have placed at various regional competitions)
-I work at food pantry 8 hours a week.</p>

<p>Recommendations: Math teacher (She loves me... I think it'll be good)
Spanish teacher (We weren't as close, but she always had nice things to say about me)
Counselor (My counselor is a borderline idiot. I highly doubt she has good writing skills. However, she has gotten to know me somewhat over this past year, so idk)</p>

<p>Please give me your chances! Don't be afraid to be honest.</p>

<p>All of those schools are definitely within your reach if you get that Critical Reading up just a bit. And make sure you get on great terms with your counselor. I wish you best of luck. Chance me back if possible.</p>

<p>Your ECs are lacking for the top end schools. Nothing stands out and screams dedication or initiative.</p>

<p>Nothing stands out in ECs? I see a lot of great accomplishment in music. Frankly I think everything looks very competitive. With the schools you list i don’t think anyone can say for sure, but I like your chances! Do you have a safety or two that you like?</p>

<p>Great list might also look at Duke and Holy Cross-nice campus near Boston.</p>

<p>Everything seems good for the schools you listed. Your ECs are only passable, but your test scores, GPA and essays and recs give you good shots at the schools you listed. </p>
