Okay, I'm a senior. I'm in the application process. I don't have the greatest GPA and I have okay standard test scores.

GPA: 3.3
ACT: 27 (30 English, 28 Math, 26 Reading, 24 Science, 8 on the Writing)
SAT: 1790/2400 or 1200/1600 (640 Critical Reading, 560 Math, 590 Writing)
SAT II: Literature, Math I, U.S. History - just taken today
Moderate EC activities.

I'm white from a middle/lower-middle class family. 4 children. I go to a fairly competitive private school.

I REALLY want to get into NYU.... but I'm under their average in everything (their av GPA is 3.6, ACT 30, etc). I realize I don't have high chances, but how practical would it be to try to get in? What can I do to increase my chances?

Northeastern is my second choice, which is still pretty selective but not as much as NYU...

Thanks.
