I am an international student enrolling for UW's fall quarter as a pre-social science freshman. What are my chances of doing a double degree in future? (in the field of business/accounting/banking/finance on top of economics which i am majoring.) I understand that i'll have to complete a minimum of 225 credits at the end of it all. But what are the constraints of declaring a double degree? (Is it given to a small percentage of students with exceptionally well results or can anyone that fulfills the minimum credits be entitled to do so? I need more information about this, any kind would be great.) When do I declare a double degree? According to UW: "To earn two UW degrees, simultaneous or sequential, a student must complete at least 90 UW credits as a matriculated student." what does this mean?

Anyone with any idea or experienced this before (regardless of where you're from), please feel free to voice your opinion. Thank you very much!

I know some people that double major. I’m actually contemplating that myself with Economics and Statistics. However, the classification is very important in such a case like mine because at UW you can apply for either a BA or BS in Economics. Technically, if I just go for a BA in Economics (less math), then I’ll have to go for a double degree if I also want to major in Statistics. Taking credits in matriculation means to take at least 90 credits as a current student at the UW. The constraint with your situation may be the application process for individual majors because the degree in Business/accounting/finance requires that you first apply to the Foster School of Business, and then apply for a specific degree path. 225 credits can be a heavy load if you don’t come in with any credits, and don’t plan on doing any summer quarters.
