haha.too bad the colleges dont see that..........

what bout ucsd? ive basically been camping out by the mailbox waiting...havent heard yet....what are my chances there?

Better than Cornell cause you're in state. Good luck with that too. Do you mind me asking where else you applied?

honestly leah, your chances are EXTREMELY slim, being a bad test taker has NOTHING to do with anything, that's just a piece of bull excuse, read the "sat prep" board for threads on this in which people thoroughly explain, including me, how being a "bad test taker" is def. not an excuse. secondly, for sat iis there are a MYRIAD of books availabe which you just have to take time and effort to read, and you can score very high, atleast high 600s. In contrast to eagle sport's comment, your scores are not average (normal), they are extremely below average for a cornell applicant, let me say this again, your SCORES. Although the 16/530 is impressive, it is exactly why college admissions in America accounts for a number of student characteristics. sorry, i'm just being extremely blunt with you, unless this soccer/150 hours of service can pull you from your deep state with the scores, your chances are not good.

wow, i think this is another one of those joke posts like "do i have good chances at harvard?, here are my stats:
400 SAT I
200 math
200 writing
200 chemistry
my gpa is 4.0
and i rank 1/1000
"
people waiting for decisions are so bored. just like me, i mean heck, i sent a likely letter to dartmouth lol
it's been 3 days, still haven't heard from them

"wow, i think this is another one of those joke posts like "

well, it doesn't sound like a joke post. I definitely hope I don't end up in such a position....it's hard enuf to get in with great scores :) I have a feeling it'll be much harder next year when I apply :(

You look good, but just do your best, apply, and let the admissions officers figure it out.

Yeah just wait for the decisions. Obviously you already know these schools are reaches.

hmmm wish mine was a joke post........................

an i also applied to ucsb (got in) ucd (got in) ucsd (dono yet) cal poly (Duno yet)...and i applied to east coast schools cuz i was recruited for soccer but looks like i wont have a chance by reading pple's reviews (yale, wellesley, cornell, oberlin)

its too late for me to do any studying......ive already applied....im a senior...the year's almost over... but thanx for the help. oh and i did study...in fact i got a tutor for the ACT...spent like $1400 and it only brought me up from a 23 to a 25...and yes i did study my ass off so im sorry i dont fall into your "category" of people who can do well simply by studying.

Yeah, the SAT is useless. I liked the ACT too and a 25 is a respectable score. Congrats on getting into Santa Barbara and Davis! That obviously shows that colleges like you. I think you have a fair chance of getting into an east coast school with being recruited and all. Good luck, please let me know.
