Well, it seems that as things stand right now, U of R is on my top two schools. I was wondering what my stats would get me in regards to scholarships and aid.

I have a 97.86 cumulative average at a college preparatory high school.
One AP so far (AP Lit, Score comes out soon) and challenged the US one. Probably a 4 in both.
31 ACT with 31math, 31english, 29 reading, 33science.
Intended Biology major.
Visited Costa Rica on an Educational Tour.
Play rugby,basketball,soccer.
Taking 4 AP's Senior Year (Total 5 with 1 challenge)
Planning to take subject tests in the fall.

I was wondering if I would get any aid, because without aid I cannot attend the school.

Merit aid is awarded by admissions using a holist assessment of your application. Admissions considers academics, leadership, ECs, service, diversity and demonstrated interest when awarding merit. Because of the holistic assessment it’s difficult to guess how much (if any) merit you may receive and I won’t even try.

The only guaranteed merit is awarded to NMF. The rest is at the discretion of admissions.

Here’s some observations by UR’s Dean of Admissions & FA about merit aid:

If you are truly interested in UR, it’s very important to interview with the school. You don’t need to make a campus visit, but you should definitely check the UR admissions page to see if any college reps are traveling to a city near you, or use the admissions page to request an alumni interview.

UR is a “meets full need” school–and will offer a combination of grants, work/study, scholarships and federal loans if you qualify for need-based aid.

Here is a calculator to help determine if your family will qualify for need based aid.

My observation looking at a number of schools is that aid awards tend to vary from kid to kid and school to school, meaning kids with seemingly similar stats get different packages from the same school and one kid will get very different packages from different schools. You have to apply, do all the paperwork, touch all the bases, and wait to see what shows up.
