Chances of a waitlisted student getting in?

<p>My best friend got waitlisted to Stanford; does anyone know if any waitlisted students were ever taken in past years? How many? How many people are on the waitlist anyway?</p>

<p>yeah i got waitlisted too and from what i've heard, i think only about 15 people last year got off the waitlist :( and the year before, i think i read there was a 4.6% acceptance rate out of 880 something waitlisted students.</p>

<p>oh jk sorry the 880 people waitlisted was actually from the stanford class of 2005 (so six years back), my bad! but i dont know how much it would have changed since then anyway..</p>

<p>Well, if it makes you feel better, most likely me and my brother won't be matriculating at Stanford, which will hopefully open some spots for you! :)</p>

<p>most likely not, since waitlist acceptance gets out by early june, i think. i know my school goes on until june 22nd.</p>

<p>but you can always sent them unofficial grades</p>
