chances of acceptance at cal poly slo

3.44 weighted gpa
25 ACT (28 english, 26 math, 23 reading, 22 science)
working on my sat this summer trying to get 1700+

Not that familiar with cal poly although a friend of mine is enrolling this fall there. You need to raise your GPA and have extra curriculars.

Unweighted gpa? Rising senior?

Weighted GPA is too low and ACT is a little less than the average of those admitted. I’d say it’s a low reach.

does slo also consider senior grades? i’m an incoming senior.

ehhh retake the ACT once more, and pull up your GPA by the mid term report and I’d say you have a shot

Don’t you mean “Caltech?”

Those grades are pretty low. Try harder. You do mean 1700+ for reading&math only, right?

^umm. Wow. No. First, he doesnt mean caltech. Its california polytechnic state university. Second, max score for reading+math is 1600.

It really depends on your major. If you are engineering… high reach, if not, still a reach. If you get around 28 on act you are in a little better shape.

yea it’s going to be hard considering your weighted gpa is less than 3.5. and no cal poly slo doesnt count senior grades
