Chances of acceptance at FSU

3.3 gpa 3.76 weighted GPA
Type of Classes: 2 regular classes, rest honors, AP/AICE
SAT:1800
Class rank: Top 10%
Community service: 219 hours
Extracurricular: Key club, FBLA officer, NSHSS member, Part of my Community Volunteer Association

I think your GPA is a bit low but you should still get in, your SAT is pretty decent.
How are you top 10% if your GPA is 3.3?

The class rank goes by our “hpa” which is just my high schools weighted system

And the fact that my class has 700 kids in it

You’ll probably get in because you’re in the top 10% and you have good SAT scores.

That’s dank

I think the essay will decide if I get in or not

SAT scores and class rank aren’t near as important to FSU’s admissions office as your course rigor and your GPA. You have the course rigor down, so that won’t be an issue. Your GPA is a bit low, but not terribly low.

A lot of people stress about various factors… your essay likely isn’t going to be read at all. It’s pretty much only going to be read if you are very borderline on admission, and normally it’s only going to matter if you’re borderline vs someone else for admission.

What you will want to do is recalculate your GPA using FSU’s formula, so that you will have a better idea of where you stand. FSU recalculates all GPAs to their own system so that they are normalized.
http://cyberguidance.net/college/recalgpa.pdf</a></p>

3.76 is my recalculated in the correct recalculation, that link shows .25 for honors and .5 for ap gpa increase which isn’t true it’s .5 honors 1 AP

FSU will no longer be recalculating their GPA <a href=“FSU Admissions | Error 404 page not found”>http://admissions.fsu.edu/publications/counselor/CounselorBrochure2013.pdf</a>. OP, your SAT is in the average, your gpa is not. Essay and the number of AP classes you took will decide it for you (honors classes are a joke) unless your school is ranked very highly.

I’ve taken 8 AP/AICE classes

And honors is decent, regular classes is the joke

I’ll be applying for summer also for a better chance

Applying for summer actually limits your chances. If you apply for fall, you are automatically considered for summer admission if you don’t meet the criteria to be accepted for fall.

What about UCF and USF how’s my chances with those schools
