***Chances of acceptance at UGA/UF??***

Hiya  So my stats are as following as of junior year:

GPA weighted: 4.0
GPA unweighted: 3.7
(had all A’s and 1 B- yikes)
Class Rank: 50/377
SAT w/ writing: 1200/1600 (retaking !! hopefully will score somewhat better…)
ACT: taking oct. 22
AP Classes (as of sr year): 4 total; took AP Lit/APUSH jr. year & received A’s in both & taking AP Lang/AP Psych this year
EC’s: Some examples:
secretary for executive board of student council (4 yr member), conducted toy drive & volunteer committee for school in connection with student council, FBLA&DECA 4 yr member, NHS, foreign language NHS, quill & scroll NHS (journalist students), 4 yr volunteer for american cancer society and serves as a member on the committee for the state, state student advisory council on education member (20 students from all high schools in state selected to meet with board of ed members to enact new policies towards education), 4 yr varsity member of xc/indoor track/outdoor track & earned awards in each… etc etc
Residency: I’m from CT, so would be out of state for both UF & UGA and from what I hear it’s more difficult for oos…
Major: Biology

I know for the UF GPA it comes out to be a 4.4, bc they calculate the gpa’s differently.
(UGA uses same weighting scale as my school.)
Please let me know around what you think my chances will be !!!

Keeping in mind that UF uses holistic admissions, which can seem a bit random at times, you’re a match. It would help if you can increase your SAT score (or do well on the ACT), and make sure you list how many weeks/days/hours you put into your EC’s. Also, the Essay is very important, so put some effort into it. UF puts more weight on GPA/Class Rigor/Essay than on Test scores. EC’s also have a lot of weight. Still, you want to get closer to that mid 50% range.

UGA:

UGA doesn’t put as much weight on non-academic EC’s (or the essay), as UF. It does put a lot of weight on GPA/Class rigor (and a bit less on Test Scores). You’re a match, but you still want to raise your test score a bit.

Good Luck!

Thank you!!!
