Chances of Acceptance Off Wait List for Temple (2.99GPA, 600 Reading 500 Math)

What are my chances of being accepted off the wait list for Temple with a 2.99 GPA and best SATs at 600 Reading, 500 Math, & 480 Writing? I was in student council, played football and wrestled. They said i would be notified no later than May 20th, but isnt nation commit day may 1??? Like if i got into SJU, Cabrini College, and Shippensburgh but I was hoping for Temple but if I was to send my deposit to SJU I could still back out and go to Temple correct? I know i would loose my deposit because they are non refundable.

Historical data says the odd is not bad better than 1/3 last year. And based on the common data set, they do not rank the waiting list, which suggests that it would be good for you to make yourself more visible by updating any new info and maybe extra letter of interest from you to Temple adcom.

[IR Factbook & Common Data Set](http://www.temple.edu/ir/factbook/ir-factbook.html)

Yes, you need to put in that deposit to SJU before May 1st, and you can back out and go to Temple if you get accepted off the waiting list. This happens all the time, you will lose the deposit but SJU will completely understand.

Ok, so a mid year report wuld be good to send? As well as an xtra letter of interest to a Temple adcom? Im not to clear on what a adcom is?

Yes to both and adcom is short for admission committee.

Ok so for a letter of interest im basically just writing and telling them im very intrested in Temple and its my first choice and like what else should i throw in their… do u think it would help that i registered for an open house this month as well?

Yes, if Temple is what you will definitely attend if accepted then enthusiastically tell them that. I don’t know about the open house, but the admission rep that is personally responsible for you and your region might be there and if you are good at making an impression at a personal level, then going there should also help. Don’t be overbearing but introduce yourself and politely ask he/she about your waiting list status, anything you can do to provide more information to enhance your chance, etc… Then email he/she a short email a few days later, thanking he/she for holding the open house and talking to you about the opportunity.

I got accepted yesterday! Got the email I guess the mid year report was enough becuz i faxed it late tuesday and got the email late yesterday. Thank you for yr help!

Congrats. Good luck at Temple.
