Based on your stats, since i do not know you, lol... I would say strong. You seem like a talented writer even though your Verbal may be on the low side. You are engineering so I dont see that having an effect. I would say good chances. The Governor's school is prestigious among your other accomplishments.

thanks for the constructive criticism man, it is really appreciated.

where is the helpful PENN Criticism....??????

u guys are dead

um.. test scores are a little bit on the low side.. but id say URM could work to your advantage.. also if you can turn your ECs and scores into something cohesive on your app.. thatd be great (since clearly youve done a lot of things all across the board)..

you can never be sure at penn.. they reject perfect sat scores and valedictorians on a regular basis.. but nonetheless.. you have a shot

your great, thanks for the reply, and good luck.

did you apply early decision? if you did, then your probably in since your african-american and scored a composite of over 1300 (math and verbal) on the SAT. Class rank is really good too. I've seen other urms who have slightly better test scores than you (670m, 670v) who get into yale, stanford etc. I'd say your a shoe-in if you apply ed, if you apply rd you have a pretty good shot as well (though not as good as ED).

Scores are on the low side and you don't have much in the way of really meaningful ECs...I'd say your chances are okay though, because of rank/GPA/URM.

Very impressive class rank and overall good stats. I'll see ya at Penn! (I'll be the one with the bucket and mop)

I think the URM and Rank will probably get you through, but I'd still retake the SATs and the SATII math. Engineering schools are stringent about SATs more than non-engineering schools and Penn SEAS is no different.

Penn is very interested in hearing specific, personal, persuasive reasons why you want to go there.

In other words, why Penn SEAS as opposed to any other engineering school?

Wait asec... I saw this same thread in the MiT section of this site...
