Hey guys, I was hoping someone could help me determine my chances of acceptance to Cal Poly SLO for business. I’ll post my stats and feel free to ask for additional information. This is for REGULAR DECISON.
GPA: 3.4 weighted, 3.2 UNWEIGHTED
ACT COMPOSITE: 32
SAT: 1940 (although I only submitted my ACT scores)
Extracurriculars: 16+ hours per week
Ethnicity: Asian Indian
I know my GPA is rather low, but that has to do with my mom being in a war zone for 4+ years throughout my high school career. I hope my decent ACT will somewhat compensate for my poor GPA. Any information is helpful, thanks for reading
Maybe you’ll have a chance if you went to a highly competitive high school? 3.2 (and even 3.4) is a little low, and I’m not sure a 32 can make up for it. They don’t look at extracurriculars, so you’re out of luck there. Family issues can only be used to explain a strange inconsistency in one part of your academic record, not grades for four straight years.
Hopefully your area of concentration didn’t have a lot of applicants.
