Chances of acceptance

Im applying to transfer to purdue next fall.
What are my chances of acceptance if I had a 3.4 GPA in high school a 23 act, and a 3.0 GPA my first semester of college?

Also how important is the essay on a transfer application?
Do they look more at the essay or the other aspects of the app when considering accepting a transfer student?

What major? And I’d say essays are fairly important but academics probably hold more weight.

Essay very important. As is HS GPA and ACT because you’re only 1 year into college.

It will depend on major.

im applying to preprofessional health sciences, and liberal arts.

so I figure if I dont get into health science I will get into liberal arts and then just change my major later on

you got a fair chance. minimum transfer gpa for health sciences is 3.0 and liberal arts is 2.2 iirc

protip: try not to hit the 1k word limit for the limit. 700-750 words is more than enough. its not going to help you much as they have thousands of essays to read through. you’re better off just being clear and concise.

ok thank you for the tip, I will definitely shorten my essay as much as I can then
