My SAT score was 1730 (530 reading, 610 math, 560 writing).

GPA: 4.0 (weighted: about 4.7)

I'm an honors student who does plenty of extracurricular activities. My only worry is my SAT score. I want to double major in Psychology and Voice Performance. Do I have a good shot to be accepted? I'm a junior now.

Absolutely no chance of getting in. NYU’s 25th percentile is at 1900. As you can see, you are wayyyyy below it.

Absolutely! If you do well on your audition, those grades and scores are good enough to get you accepted. Arts majors are evaluated differently from straight academic applicants. I am not sure how the double major comes into play.

The SAT will need to be raised to AT LEAST 1850-1900. As you are a junior, you will still have time to do this.

I disagree with the above posts, and I think you will still have a shot if you can make up for a fairly low score.

Your SAT score is just a minor piece to a bigger puzzle. Keep your hopes high and write a convincing app

And I mean, retaking your SAT’s surely wouldn’t hurt
