I've been looking at Oberlin for quite some time now, and have definitely put it at the top of my college list. However, I am beginning to rethink this choice mostly because I have doubts about my qualifications for Oberlin. What are my chances?

Asian female
first-generation college student living in a single parent household
tri-lingual (english, chinese, spanish)

I have a relatively decent GPA. It's 3.8 weighted, but there has been a general upward grade trend over the years, which may indicate my ability to progressively improve year after year.

My SAT scores are considerablydismal. Make that very dismal. I'm slightly embarrassed to share them, but considering that I had relatively no SAT prep, I doubt that this 4 figure digit can accurately define what intellectual capability I have. 700CR, 530M, 630W. Yes, I am mathematically illiterate. I am, however, awaiting to take my ACTs in December. I figure that the only way I can redeem myself and recuperate from complete SAT annihilation will be through that. I am aiming for a 32-34.
