Not very many APs being offered, but I am taking 1 this year (English). I will take more next year. I am also taking one dual credit class (Accepted - most in state schools.) Other classes are honors unless they are not offered as honors, dual, or AP.

You have varsity concert choir? That's a little odd.

I think UCSD is going to be very very hard for you. GPA...try for 2000 to make yourself more competitive. UCSD is getting to be more competitive to get into, and the ~1620 score is below average, since I THINK UCSD's current average is 1150-1200. Multiply that by 1.5...Plus, you're OOS which is even more difficult.

to be honest, your gpa is kinda shaky. i think the average gpa is like 4.0 or something. but don't take my word for it.

but you do have a lot of ec's so keep your head up

Ok.

Yeah we have a varsity choir. the JV choir is a Treble choir for girls. It's kind of hard to explain.

My GPA is on a 4.0 scale

WHAT ARE MY CHANCES?

Chances?! Please?!

pnoyboy07: that should get you some points, but i would try to get high sat ii scores to beef up the comprehensive review score because even though you have a lot listed under each category, it doesn't mean **** (sorry for my language) that'll just be 300 points under your belt. and trust me on it, you need to earn more points. ucsd isn't subjective in it's way of choosing their students.

akluftxcl: for ucsd, you'll most likely get in. it's just because of that GPA. just try to fluff up yoru community service hours over 200+ and you'll get the 300 points. and let's hope your family life is bad, cause the worse it is the better your points (ie. single mom, low income)

http://admissions.ucsd.edu/dev3/info/comreview.html

there's the rubric. work towards it.

Wait...I'm confused. So the fact that I have a 4.23 GPA, good activities, decent test scores, attend one of the top few public schools in the state, and have taken 7 APs and an honors won't matter because I'm not poor or have any special circumstances. So some kid with way lower points than me and issues will get in. That perturbs me just a bit. Any information people? Or am I concerning myself for no reason?

If a student is admitted to UCSD, but receives a C in an ap class (for instance, calc), would his/her admission be revoked?

admission would be revoked if your second semester gpa is lower than a 3.0, unweighted.

akluftxcl: thats what i was wondering. cuz i am getting a C in ap physics:(

sammie_sam:
i have 205 hours of CS. to get the 300 pts do they want way more than 200 hours or just 200 or more??? should i do more?

b u m p

platos__cave, that's some impressive stats. This year's class at UCSD is the largest and I don't think you have much to worry about.
