Chances of admission at Colby College?

I’ve been looking into Colby College a LOT recently, and it seems like a great fit for me and I’m super excited to visit. I fall above their 75th percentile, but I was looking at a graph and a lot of people near my range had been rejected or waitlisted and I just want to make sure this is still a reasonable target school for me.

My SATs are a 2290 (730R, 770M, 790W) and my weighted GPA is a 4.18 (unweighted 3.93). I plan on taking the new SAT in october.

I’ve taken AP Chem (4), AP Calc BC (5), AP Bio (5), and AP English Language (5).

My schedule for senior year includes AP Stats, AP Human Geo, AP English Literature and AP Physics C (I wanted to take AP Econ but it wouldn’t fit ).

I plan to apply for financial aid and am a white female from NJ (not sure if that matters).

As far as EC’s, I have a paid tutoring job, I’ve been a captain of our school’s SHIP Club for two years (we basically welcome the incoming freshman, show them where to go, and check in with them a few times a year), I’m going to be president of our Math Honor Society, I’m a member of World Lang. Honor Society, a member (no leadership) of a few other clubs, and I participated in a three week research program at a boarding school in Wellesley this summer. So nothing extraordinary, but they exist.

I think my recommendations will be strong, because the teachers I requested it from (english and bio) are people that I had great personal connections with and I was the top student in each of their classes.

Hopefully I have a good shot at getting in because Colby seems amazing, but if anyone has any other suggestions they’d be greatly appreciated!!

** I posted this same thing in the Colby College forum but no responses so I’m trying here. Thanks!

Im at colby right now (profile names ironic) and youre certainly qualified academically- so if colby’s your school, you’ll get in. Id be surprised if you didnt get in, but either way youre going to find a good school for you at that point. wouldnt sweat it.

I am attending Colby right now. You are definitely qualified, so I’d say you should give it a shot.
