<p>Hi! Could anyone provide any insight on my chances of getting into GW ED1 class of 2019?</p>
<p>GPA: 3.7
SAT: 1860
APs: APUSH, AP environmental, AP lang (5), AP gov (4)
Senior year: AP calc AB, AP human geography, AP lit, internship, independently studying Arabic</p>
<p>ECs:
- JSA (debate club) all 4 year, president of chapter, member of regional board
- national honor society
- junior class president
- horseback riding since age 3
- varsity tennis
- president and founder of motivational speaker program at high school
- independently studying Arabic
- Special Olympics partner for 3 years
- tutoring Latin students
- Intern for the Democratic Party</p>
<p>Applied to the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences with an intended major in Arabic Studies.
Interviewed on campus - went very, very well.</p>
<p>Any help would be greatly appreciated, GW is my dream school :)</p>
<p>Your standardized test scores appear towards the bottom half of the class, and so that will bring some questions when your application is reviewed. I would say your GPA certainly makes up a little bit for your scores (assuming that GPA is unweighted). What will be important during review is the fact that you took Advanced Placement classes, they will be looking to see how well you excelled in those classes. Your AP scores won’t matter much in review, they’ll want to see the grades you got. If you did well in them, it will be even better. </p>
<p>I would say your extracurricular activities generally fit into the student profile that the university frequently admits. </p>
<p>In general, I would say you are a competitive applicant for review. If your essays are exceptional, and your recommendation really advocate for you, your chances of being admitted are quite good. </p>
<p>@GWU2018 Thank you so much! I’ve gotten A’s in every AP I’ve taken, which is reflected on my transcript. I was very happy with my letters of rec and essays. Again, thank you so much for your input :)</p>
<p>I would say yes. I disagree with GW2018 saying the test score will “bring questions”… your application is very strong and IMO you will be accepted.</p>
