Okay…you posted this on seven other forums. That says something about you.
I have this feeling that this is some kind of closet ■■■■■, but oh well.

Your stats are good, and you seem well-rounded.
But there is this sinking feeling that you may get rejected at like all Ivies except like two.
I do not know why. I have this feeling that you don’t seem like the type who can stick to one thing and see it through, or you do too much for your own good.

There is just something wrong with this picture.

Who knows… Cornell seems to be a “fit” school. Which College?

I am looking to be a biomedical engineer; I have decided (I know people change their minds) that this is the best field of stuy for me. I am only a sophomre and I am looking to see if there is anything that I can do now that would help me i the future. And I am not weird!!! I posted this on every forum because I thought that this was okay; I do not like to offend people and if I annoyed you, I’m sorry. When I checked out this site and read that others did this, I thought that it was common. Happy Easter everybody!

Too bad biomedical engineering isn’t a major offered at Cornell :)

try again.

Thanks Chendrix for that tip-it’s quite important. I did not realize that it was not offered, but I would not mind having a different engineering degree from Cornell! That also explains why an admission rep that I talked to shied away from that topic! :)

The next generation of chance threads… I remember the good (or not so good) old days of me posting chance threads…

THEY’RE USELESS!

I realize that these forums do not dictate entrance/admission into a good school; I just want to see where I am compared to other students/ hear there opinions. Thanks for the tip, though ChandlerBing!

Sorry if I came off as a bit rude/jaded, but chance threads are really sort of useless (though I’m guilty of posting a fair few of them pre-decisions)

Honestly, I think you have a great shot, but I really can’t tell. This year has been SO ridiculously crazy that slews of extremely qualified, extremely intelligent kids got rejected at tons of places.

My biggest piece of advice is this:
FINISH JUNIOR YEAR WELL. Junior year is hugely important, there are a ton of exams at the end of it, so make sure to ace them. Only after you beast junior year you should start worrying about your chances. Right now, work super hard, and concentrate on your academics and extracurriculars. When school lets out and you’re on summer break, then you can research colleges intensively and start writing application essays.

Good luck!

Thanks, that allays some anxiety. You’re right, this year was crazy! I am taking a hard schedule next year, so we will wait to see what happens. You were not rude by the way; these forums only calm down nervous teenagers, as admissions has gotten too tricky to generally chance anything! Thank you!

bump…am I on the right track? Also looking at Duke, Hopkins, Wake, Caltech, and MIT.

bump…bump

bump…

^^ Hey Chandler, where’s Monica?

^Priceless.

you seem well-rounded and your probable SAT score looks good. If you reach your SAT range and maintain a good GPA, you have a good shot at all the Ivys and your other schools. Also, since you have a legacy at Brown, you might have a higher chance there. However, with these types of schools, it’s really hard to tell since getting accepted in these schools is, as my counselor says, “like winning the lottery”. But I wish you the best of luck and hopefully you’ll get into your first choice school.

Thanks sakuraraun106! Your counselor is absolutely right in saying that this is just a huge game of lottery for the students to play! I appreciate the kind comments! :)

^how would you know? are you some kind of counselor or admission rep? no you are not

cs12345, because I asked my old counselor (before I had any official stats) and he was an admissions officer at Duke and other top-notch schools. (he also switched to high school work to assist young students gain entrance into top 10 universities). Thanks!

bump…bumpppppppppppppppp
