chances of admission into Northwestern??? (or dartmouth or yale)

I am a current high school junior and am very interested in Northwestern. It’d be great if you guys could let me know my chances of getting in.

TEST SCORES:
ACT - 33 Composite (retook, waiting for results but not very confident it’ll be above a 33)
AP World History - 5
*Currently taking APUSH, AP Chem, AP Stats, AP Calc AB and am aiming for a 5 on all of them.
SAT Subject Math II - 730 (retaking in May)
SAT Subject World History - 720
*Planning to take the Chemistry and US History subject test as well.

GPA:
4.0 (to date)

INTERNSHIPS:

  • environmental science internship sophomore year
  • public health internship summer of sophomore year
  • Applying for several highly regarded ones for summer.

EXTRACURRICULARS:

  • junior class VP
  • peer mediator (founding member)
  • days for girls club (founding member)
  • SOAR (Students Organized Against Racism) (founding member)
  • Peer tutor
  • leader of new crew new student program
  • HOSA (future health professionals club)
  • National Honor Society
  • Piano (10 years)
  • Singing (12 years)

SENIOR YEAR’S COURSES:

  • leadership
  • AP US Govt
  • Spanish 4
  • Advanced Calc (equivalent to Calc BC)
  • AP Bio
  • AP Physics C - Mechanics
  • English 12

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats are great and your ECs are good. Try narrowing down your EC list and getting more leadership positions. You want to have a defined interest or passion in your application. Write good essays and apply ED to Northwestern if it is your first choice school

Thanks for the advice. Does my ACT score (33) lower my chances in any way? Or does my other activities and scores “buffer” that?

All of them are reaches. The SAT subject scores are average. ECs are OK but typical of any student without major hooks.

33 ACT is also slightly low for NW/Ivies as well. Maybe try an SAT?
