Historically, candidates who are 3Q (qualified medically, physically and academically) AND have a nomination have a 75% chance of being offered an appointment.

However, you appear to be an ideal candidate for USAFA Prep School, as your SAT (especially the Math portion) is low when compared against your competition.

I think I disagree with Luigi. most prep school offers go to those who are academically deficient.

your SAT reading is only 10 pts below average, and your math is about 70 pts below average. but other than that, you look golden.

it’s not like all the cadets at usafa had above all the average scores (which is impossible, statistically speaking)

you’re in great shape. I hope you (and I) are appointed

I would say you have a good chance, but no one can tell you for sure, and the average scores for 2016 will be higher than the posted 2014 ones (even 2015s were higher than 2014s).

Overall it looks like a solid application to me. I just have a word of caution if you do get in that I will say now in case I don’t get a chance later. DO NOT talk about how you were in CAP or make the mistake of thinking you know almost everything about the Air Force already. USAFA is a completely different environment culturally and I speak from experience when I say basic cadets with a resume like yours can either excel and really help everyone else out, or be extremely obnoxious know it alls who bring the wrath of the cadre down on everyone.

On that happy note, good luck. It feels so strange posting here over 4 years after I received my own appointment, but its been a pretty exciting time.
